I have been extremely impressed with how easy and fast everything is. It’s very user friendly and extremely intuitive. They’ve been able to make it so that just about anybody can figure out how to do it with just a couple clicks and a very small tutorial.

Rachit Shah is a pharmacist and the owner of SureCare Pharmacy and Careplus Discount Pharmacy in the greater Chicagoland area. Rachit spent many years building a stable and successful retail independent pharmacy. After getting to a point where he wanted to expand his operation, how could he ensure a positive return on a new investment, or pharmacy? This presented a challenge.
Rachit heard about telepharmacy from a friend and thought it seemed like a good idea.

“With reimbursements and tough competition right now, telepharmacy seemed to be a pretty good opportunity,” he said, speaking about his interest in remote dispensing. “ScriptPro was too expensive and TelePharm was easy and affordable.”
One thing lead to another and Rachit was introduced to TelePharm. He found a clinic with patients that could use convenient access to an in-house pharmacy, and he proposed the idea to health system. Rachit figured it would be a great way to open a new pharmacy and ensure a decent prescription volume as patients could fill their prescriptions at the telepharmacy before they leave the clinic.
“We opened in September of 2015,” he said. “We are loving it! The patients like it and the clinic likes it.”
For Rachit, telepharmacy empowered him to open a pharmacy with minimal overhead in a location that’s convenient for patients and good for business. TelePharm helped Rachit achieve his goals.
“We are trying to open more locations,” he said, speaking about future plans. “Any new pharmacies we open will definitely be telepharmacies. No question.”
